Understanding the new roles in Primary Care

A resource for HEE North East and North Cumbria developed by the Primary Care Training Hub

New Roles Overview

The North East and North Cumbria Primary Care Training Hub have engaged with primary care stakeholders across the Integrated Care System and identified a need to develop local resources to promote and embed the new roles available to PCNs.

The roles included in these resources incorporate the NHS England Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme, via the GP Contract and other roles across Primary Care, providing an opportunity to develop existing teams in addition to recruiting new staff.

To view the Network Contract DES 2024/25 (including contract specification and PCN requirements and entitlements), please click here.

This is not an exhaustive list and will be continually updated on a quarterly basis to incorporate additional new roles as more information and guidance becomes available.
